Trip Information

Everest Panorama Trek: Best Season

The easiness and moderateness of our Everest Panorama trek makes it available every season in Nepal. However, for the complete experience of its beauty and culture without the challenges of harsh weather, we suggest you to take the Everest panorama trek in spring and fall.

Spring (March-end of May) breathes new life and awakens the trail of Everest with lush green jungles, crimson hills, and lively wildlife. The day heat also wanders between 17°C to 25°C making the hiking very bearable as well.

Fall/autumn (September-end of November) offer pleasant trail with day heat wandering between 12°C and 16°C. The vital highlight is the celebration of Mani Rimdu Festival in Tengboche Gompa during the November month.

Winter (December-end of February) brings not that too much snow as the trails are moderately high. However, summer/monsoon (June- end of August) can flood the trail and can even cut off the trail to Namche or Tengboche.

Everest Panorama Trek from Kathmandu: Difficulty level

Our Everest panorama trek from Kathmandu is a moderate level 2 hiking experience in the magical high environment of Everest region. Because the trekking segment is well planned, medium short and the furthest altitude only reaches 3860 m at Tengboche, this trek requires no experience, skills, or athletic built.

The trek however involves crossing the threshold of 3000 m elevation where the occurrence of altitude sickness is prevalent. The trail leading to Namche and Tengboche also traverses the steep slopes, hills and rivers so those who are not used to or are new to increased elevation can find it a bit strenuous.

However, the sleeping teahouses will be of better quality for your restful and peaceful nights. You will also have the full support from our guide and porter throughout the journey so every challenge will be manageable.

Who can participate in our Everest Panorama trek 11 Days Adventure?

Counted as one of the easiest mountain journey in Khumbu, the Everest Panorama trek 11 days journey urges everyone to join be it the families with kids, lone travelers, couples, elderlies, women, beginners, and experienced travelers.

The easy-to-travel paths, the navigable terrains, the breathtaking spectacles, the short duration, and the adaptable pace make it a perfect trip for those who wish to have a relaxed Himalayan experience or those who have a short amount of time to give to the mountains.

Thus, any age group who are in their astounding health are welcome to join our Everest panorama trek. However, people with the already prevailing health issues of lungs, skeletal, muscle, and heart systems should only take part in this adventure after their doctor’s approval.

Acute Mountain Sickness/AMS and Acclimatization

Altitude sickness/AMS can occur in any trekking adventure that goes beyond the elevation of 3000 m. It means the AMS can appear in this journey too as the ultimate height that this adventure will take you to is almost 4000 m at Tengboche.

As you journey from Phakding to Namche, you may begin to feel a slight throbbing pain in your head. You may feel dizziness and exhaustion at night. You may also have nightmares and a bit of breathing discomfort as well along with appetite loss.

All these are the initial signs of altitude sickness which will go away within few hours or a day if you slow down our pace, emphasize hydration with plain water, ginger garlic soup or honey lemon tea.

At this point, you can also opt to use the Diamox medicine that will relieve you from these conditions. Our guide has received extensive training for such condition and perfectly capable of taking the right measures.

So do not think twice about telling our guide who may descend you or delay your journey for a while. If needed, he will also look after your urgent evacuation by helicopter.

To further reduce the risk of AMS during our journey, we have separated day breaks in Kathmandu and Namche Bazaar with the chance of brief acclimating treks. It will help you get used to the nearly 4000 m altitude air of the Khumbu region before reaching Tengboche.

Training and Preparation for the Everest Panorama Trek Itinerary

Our Everest panorama trek itinerary do not involve any crossing of the high altitude passes or ridges but it does involve a long walking spanning around 6 hours on average each day.

Although medium, the trek will still occur in the high altitude environment of the Himalayas where the sudden transformation in weather, and terrain are natural.

In addition, it still is a multi-day hiking adventure involving six straight days of trekking. So we urge every one of our participating trekkers to train and prepare themselves for this unique mountain adventure one month before they depart for Nepal.

You don’t need a gym membership; only a right exercise regimen is necessary. Start prepping with light walking to your nearby parks or hills; cover 2 to 3 km per day which you can slowly increase to 5 km, 10 km, and then 15 km per day.

Then, start running one time a day at first and then two times a days three or four times a week. For the climbing up and down part of our journey, opt to climb up and down the stairs which is just like ascending and descending the hills and slopes.

You can then progress to cycling, swimming and squatting with planks as well. After you think you are set, go on a small hike up to 2000 or 2500 m elevation with light backpack for a day or two.

Sleeping, Eating, and Transport

Every part of your Everest panorama trek will be well taken care of. In Kathmandu, you will stay in twin rooms of comfortable and clean three-star hotels where you will have WiFi, hot water and attached bath for free.

If you like to have a room for yourself or wish to elevate your stay to four or five star hotels, we can make it possible prvided you let us know beforehand. However, an additional charge will be applicable for the service.

As you start your Everest Panorama trek from Kathmandu, the cozy little mountain tea houses will be your home for the night. Here also, you will get two single beds in a room with amenities of hot water, and WiFi.

Regarding your dining arrangements, full meals (dinners, lunches, and breakfasts) will be offered in the tea houses. You can select the menu which usually consist of Dal Vat, Momo, pizza, thukpa, pasta, bakery items, etc.

We will also completely look after all your transportation needs with private pick up and drop back and forth to TIA followed by the exclusive city tour and Manthali transfer. Your Kathmandu/Manthali and Lukla flight will also be timely managed.

Permits for the Everest Panorama Trek

Like any other trekking trips in Everest region, ou Everest Panorama trek also needs the Khumbu local area permit and the entrance permit for the reserved zone of Everest/Sagarmatha National park.

Because we already have the local Khumbu permit, we will not be needing the TIMS card anymore. The local permit for Khumbu is easily obtainable at Monjo or Lukla for 2000 Nepali rupees per hiker.

On the other hand, the National Park permit is purchasable at the tourism office in Kathmandu or at the park gate in Monjo or Lukla for 3000 Nepali rupees per hiker.

Our Everest panorama trek package overall fees already has included the related procurement services and fees regarding your permits.

Travel Insurance

Several known and unknown risks often remain hidden in the Himalayas. Our Everest Panorama trek is also not an exception in this regard. Though there are no very highly elevated areas in our program, still, we will be amid the high Himalayas.

We will still be hiking, climbing, descending the forest slopes, river gorges and highly hung bridges. In such places, if a second of negligence can result in fall, ligament tear, sprained ankle, or fractured bones. And anyone can suddenly fall the victim of the severe AMS that may require immediate helicopter transportation.

Thus, travel insurance has been made a compulsion even for our Everest Panorama trek from Kathmandu. With the proper type of insurance, you will be well equipped to face any type of threats that we have stated above.

We therefore request you to secure the comprehensive plan for your travel insurance that should facilitate rescue and search by helicopter to the elevation of 4000 m, medical services, extended stays, trip delays, flight cancellations, and lost luggage.

Ultimately, your travel insurance should safeguard you from any financial hurdles that may arise during your international trekking adventure.
