KathmanduTrip Overview
The Lobuche East Peak Climbing Trek falls within the Khumbu region of Nepal, sharing many common stops to the standard Everest Base Camp trek. This peak stands 6119 meters tall, which was first climbed by Laurence Nielson and Ang Gyalzen, his Sherpa, all the way back in 1984. Since this peak does not reach extreme heights over 7000 or 8000 meters, and climbing it is fairly easy, it has been graded as a trekking peak by the NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association).
Despite its fairly easy climb, it will still be tiring and exhausting since we will be climbing a Himalayan peak. But it is very doable, experienced trekkers with basic mountaineering skills can complete this trek without any major issues. The peak climbing ascent will be rough as we traverse icy slopes, glaciers, rocky grounds, and ice walls to reach the summit. From the top, we will enjoy a one-of-a-kind view of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Everest peaks.
The itinerary we have proposed below takes you on a cultural tour as well. We will pass by many Sherap villages and stay at a handful, to experience their daily activities and practices first-hand. Village such as Tengboche, Pangbcohe, Chhukung, Pheriche, etc. offer a great insight into the Sherap culture and tradition. You might even get to see Sherpa cultural performance is lower region villages such as Lukla and Namche Bazaar.
In addition to climbing the Lobuche East Peak, we will also visit the Everest Base Camp, along with a bunch of monasteries en route. The gompas, chortens, and mani walls displays the great influence of Tibetan Buddhism in the region. Visiting the highland monasteries will be a spiritual and peaceful side tour.
Our Lobuche East Peak Climbing Trek is one of the best options for you if you want to experience climbing a peak that is very manageable yet rewarding. Here’s a comprehensible and detailed guide on our trek package, so you can really understand what you can expect from this journey.
